hi zardoz ,would be intrested to see pics of tool kit to compare with p5,will ask step father who he gets spares from ,,,,,this any use to you ?

The DeDion tube is similar on the Aston V8 with the inboard brakes attached to the diff. On my car there is an inspection hatch from inside the car to change pads etc -but later cars (such as the Oscar India that Malcolm restored, did not have the hatch. Anyway the whole affair is bloody fiddly to get back on the car!

iv never seen aother one of these cars on the road before but the owner of my storage and repair workshop has one that is in really bad condition, she has also asked me to restore it which im looking into
i will take pics tomorrow but believe me this one is in bad condition and need hundreds if not thousands putting into it to put it back the the condition she wants
another thing while im here can you advise me on how you open the bonnet on these rover 2000's iv looked for a bonnet latch but to no avail and gave up after 20 mins of looking lol
i will get pics and show just how bad this model is tomorrow

The bonnet latch is inside the "knee bin" or glove box on the drivers side. It took me ages to find it too!
Best get the wings unbolted and the outer sills unbolted (if it has any) and have a look what needs doing. Pity the window was left open, though the inside looks original, even down to the radio. good job these have alluminium bonnets and boots, and hubcaps though, along with some stainless trim. Just wish they'd gone the whole hog with Ally & stainless steel and done the bumpers and wings as well! Its looks bad, but then i have seen them in worse states of repair and miraculously brought back to pristine condition. Here take a look at these pics
sills & d post restoration for Rover P6
By the look of the sills on this picture of yours, which i have 'gamma'd' and cropped to improve what we can see, it looks as if the outer sill has almost rusted right through!
And the other side pictured below that is worse for filler. Indeed a veritable filler city!
Believe it or not i have seen worse brought back from the dead. It will however take hundreds of hours (tons of welding 
) and at least a grand in parts, unless your lucky on ebay or find a friendly P6 owner who will donate bits. Which cant exacly be done on a whim. If you need any advice though i am willing to donate of that freely.
