Yes it's fine.It is changing speeds ok?
I don't know about small.I really could do with a small comfortable to use lathe and a cva would be ideal
So whats the big knob on the front left then?Yes it's fine.
Turns out it is a conventional gearbox not a hydraulic drive as used on the Monarch.
Manual speed selector. So whats the big knob on the front left then?
You need an inverter, motor will do 1.5 times no problem 1.5 times 1650 gives 2400 and something?Manual speed selector.
For some strange reason sadly my lathe top speed is 1650 rpm. It was an optional extra. Standard is 2240 or 3000. Yes you get a lower speed. 25rpm v 28rpm
Your telling that to the bloke with the 12 ton bed grinderI don't know about small.
Small capacity yes but the footprint isn't very small and it weighs a LOT!
Will have to use my crane scales but I would say a good 1500 to 1600kg.
Lol fair point!Your telling that to the bloke with the 12 ton bed grinder
Definitely a possibility. You need an inverter, motor will do 1.5 times no problem 1.5 times 1650 gives 2400 and something?
Might have one...
How many kW is your motor @fizzy?Definitely a possibility.
4hp 3 phase 415V so 3kw.How many kW is your motor @fizzy?
I'll check the one I have.4hp 3 phase 415V so 3kw.
I would want to keep the lathe original if possible and only use the VFD to give me higher speeds or easier speed changes if that can be done?I'll check the one I have.
I would want to keep the lathe original if possible and only use the VFD to give me higher speeds or easier speed changes if that can be done?
ie still use all the original switchgear etc.
You would have to connect the motor directly to the vfd output. The lathe contactor could be on the vfd input, forward/reverse is just a switch, the speed is a simple potentiometer. You leave the vfd at 50 hz uness you need more speed.I would want to keep the lathe original if possible and only use the VFD to give me higher speeds or easier speed changes if that can be done?
