Have you ever considered what would happen if the van rolled in an accident?
Id be hit by winches, block and tackles, steel ramps, steel jerrycans full of diesel if I didnt have a spare strap to fix it back, my second spare wheel I carry on long journeys, pinch bars and whatever other detrius in the back of there!
For the footwell, just some big ratchet straps, random large bolts, maybe some bucket pins and random tools
I don't need to stash a maglite or the like, the bloody van is always full of large lumps of rusty steel legitimately...
Sure makes you drive a bit more carefully
