started today on repairing top of bonnet hinge panel. sorry about crap pics[/ATTACH][/ATTACH]penetration shot!

and to get it that smooth

right back on this if anybody's interested. put a new front on the scuttle panelfollowed by carefully welding patches on top[/ATTACH] and welded in my homemade a post panel along with the repaired door post

finally got the repaired scuttle and bonnet hinge panel welded in this weekend. that sees this side just about finished just need to do the same on the other side[/ATTACH][/ATTACH]

todays job, jacking point bracket to complete inner wing repairs a bit crusty! made a new one from 2mm steel(hard work!)and plug welded in

Lovely work and nice to see some effort put into one of Dagenham's finest. We had a Mk IV Ghia Estate but it was the Australian version, deeper bumpers and different trim. The neat thing was they came out with the 2 litre four cylinder or 4.1 straight six (which handled like an absolute dog). Our had the 2 litre motor but with a '4' on the rear door to distinguish it from the 6, so all my school friends thought it was the six cylinder motor - important stuff when you're 14 years old.

love the work my last mk4 was a 2 litre estate ex works hack know as the spares van went very well had been breathed heavily one

cheers i should be used to it by now having done this one previously and my vp1300 from this to this plus helping on mates cars but it just seems to take longer than it used to

erm actually i did!!! i restored it between '92 and'98 then in 09 redit it in midnight blue and converted from auto to manual with twin carbs

cheers i should be used to it by now having done this one previously and my vp1300 from thisView attachment 28997 to thisView attachment 28998 plus helping on mates cars but it just seems to take longer than it used to

the amount of inner wings sills inner sills sub frame mountings i welded up on these over the years all on oxy/acet kept me in wages for years
