My makers stamp

I've had this made, it was bleedin expensive but I'm over the moon with the workmanship.

Its great when restoring stuff and finding old marks, will that punch cold or does the work need to be hot?

Cold, it's quite surprising how well it marks, when I strike it right , i've been thinking about trying to make a holder for it so I can use it in my press.

Nice. Presumably it would work hot as well, would it last longer? Where did you get it made and presumably well into £3 figures?

Chalko stamp and die company made it (http://www.spanglefish.com/metalstamps/) it was about £175

Iv e got a stamp from my grandads toolbox , his name was Reading the stamp itself leaves a very small name on the metal !
Nice idea !

I found the stamp heres a couple of pics , its very small about 8mm at most , ive stamped it onto 12mm aluminium square bar so you can see . my old mum says he worked for a medical instrument firm ,so maybe he had to stamp his work ?
