my low rider build

This is my first attempt at building anything really from scratch, apart from some seat bases for my van.
Anyhow, fancied a go at building a low rider bike so had a mooch about the intreweb and came across a few sites and got some inspiration, (most of which was from here...Chunkolini, and the geezer who builds those exquisit chops like the rifle thang)
Anyhow, I wanted mine to just look long and low and mean, and after many sketches and doodles came up with something I liked. So far it does vaguely resemble my plans.
Most of it's tacked together now and the forks are all but done.
Just need to remove the front tube and cut a longer one to fit further forward cos it aint long enough as it is. Oh and fit a crank and a steering tube, and a seat and .....

I'll post more pics as I get time to. If anyone has any tips on fixing the steering tube to the frame feel free to chip in with advice.
I am quite please with my forks...

I'm actually really surprised with the weight. I was expecting it to be ridiculous but actually I only need a small crane to move it round the garage.
I reckon once I get it rolling it'll be ok,... until I have to stop the damned thing.

See if you can buy a steam catapult off a retired aircraft carrier, that'll help you get it up to speed!

Excellent ideas lads.
I was thinking that an old GP style run and jump push start would work ok.
For brakes I was just going to carry an offcut of 30x30 box section to ram through the spokes of the front wheel.

Amazing stuff. No danger of that one collapsing.
Are you going ram raiding on it?
I like the use of the tubing on the diagonal, moree hassle but looks a lot better.

cheers matey, I quite liked the stealth bomber effect of the diaganol tubing. Of course it is getting a couple of coats of matt black too, and maybe a satin black stencilled B-2 on it somewhere.

Not sure it'll be up to internal combustion shinanigans mate. Funny tho cos I was looking through a book of classic brit bikes yesterday considering a pedal powered Manx Norton lookalike build, rear-set pedals, clip ons and an ally tank just for a laugh.

Sorry Chunko, I know its against protocol but the cardboard bog roll tubes I had kept catching fire when I tried welding em so had to BUY some steel (cheap tho, and got loads!)
