So, here are some pics of my first welds with my brand new Clarke 160 TM. I'm using 0.6mm wire to weld the 2mm plate, i had the machine set up on '2 min' with a wire feed speed of 7 (don't know what this equates to in m/s). Using a bottle of 'Hobbyweld 5' which, if i remember correctly is 93% Argon, 5% CO2 & 2% O2.
So a few queries which I have:
1) Area surrounding the welds seems quite sooty, have tried adjusting the gas flow but cant seem to get them clean looking.
2) How does the penetration look, i thought on most it looked ok.
3) I cleaned the plate up with a flapper disk, is this suficiant?
4) Comments / advise please!
P.S I fully enjoyed the process, its great top get started.
