my first time useing a spray gun

it was my first time useing a spray gun yesterday and i got a good finish better than i ever thorght i could put 1 cote f the base colour on (char gold satin II) but i lernt the hard way to wach where the hose is it was hartbrakeing to whipe the top coat off when it looked as smoth as before

il post some pics when its all done of the primer and top coats later in one go

the old airline whip ive seen a few people do it ive doen it befroe tbh
u can flat and polish it out sumtimes

i wiped it off put some more primer on then wet sanded it and you cant tell its there

lost my temper with the bummper thow must of mised a bit of oil or somthing because it the paint didnt stick to a tiny bit off it so thats now bin sanded and primed agen but just need a little more sanding the thats redy for its colour coat

did you wipe it with sum pannel wipe? if nto i sudgets u buy sum not expensive but deffo a must i think we pay 27 quid for 5 liters i knwo u can get it in 1 liter bottles asweell what was u paitn with btw WB /SOLID?

yes i did but i must of mised a bit

dont leave panelwipe to air dry, wipe it off before it drys with clean rag.
as contaminats get left behind.

ahh ok thats what i did today and it's looking very good i was woried about spraying matelic paint but im imprest with it dont know wot a pro would think off it but its good enuf for me and i was just wondering i paid $45 about £30 for 2 ltr and it makes up 4ltr is that price about right or did he see me comeing ?

The price sounds good.

I paid $130 for 2 pints of base and 1 pint of clear. Was very good paint and worked great with my cheap HVLP guns.

i have finley finished painting my bummper and wing
i would defanty advise enyone to have a go yourself and spend what you would of paid someone to do the job for you on a compressor some hose and spray gun and now i have got a compressor to run some tools off

the pics are 1st white primer, gray primer, base colour, top coat

That looks really impressive. What sort of kit have you got to get those type of results? Do you have a really expensive spray gun or one of the cheapies? What spec of compressor are you using?

it was celluloce pint ( could of done with a but more sanding but the fininsh maches the rest of the car) i have a 33gal 1.6 hp compressor set at 150psi tank and 80psi line then a ragulator on the gun set to 35psi and it keeps up realy well and i got the most expansive gun i could aford its a gravaty feed craftsman
it cost me about £50 more than it would of cost me to get it done but it was well worth the efort

Its good to hear you can get good quality cellulose paint in the USA! Its the easiest and safest paint for the amateur to use, by far!
