My first serious TIG project.

OK I'm going to make (or attempt to make ) a turbo exhaust manifold from stainless but I'm having trouble getting a flange for a 1.4 16v AFH in stainless.

There are plenty mild on eBay but these are all inlets tailored for bike carb conversions and after messaging a few I get no reply.

Anyone help me out??

i've managed to cut a flange out with a 9" disk cutter and a resoanble quality hole saw in a battery drill. didn't take that long ether.

I would have thought it's either a make it yourself or get it plasma/laser cut from a pattern you give the cutting co. The gasket can be a good place to start.

I reckon that flange will bow when you weld it, I use 8mm

I am struggling to find a firm that will supply a one of laser cut flange.

If I cannot get hold of one done professionally I may well have to get hold of some plate and cutting it myself........

If it helps, I got a free CAD program off of the internet and spent 2 days f4rting about until I had a good drawing (Thanks, TIGPaul et al) It is called CAD STD Lite.

Emailed it to a laser cutting service and 3 days later had a cut 10mm backplate for £24 a piece.
