My first ever tig weld

Well, it's took a little while to get down and start practising, but here's my first run without filler rod:

Well, so far that's been the best one. Bit of advice needed now, as I seem to be melting the tungsten end Very quickly, I mean like less that a minute and the 5-6mm sticking out is gone . So what's going wrong?

Think I solved that, lack of gas flow.
Done a couple more runs without filler
Then a small one with. Think I'm getting there.... Very slowly.. ☺

gas needs to be higher. You can tell from the sooty burn marks around the weld

I'm learning too, one tip I can give is to get a peashooter gas flow meter, they are cheap on eBay and the best way of setting gas flow as it's measured right at the tip where it's wanted.
