Had an badly rusted rear quarter on my alfa 155.
Also had an brand new panel, but their kinda rare and expensive, so did not want to put it on..
So reading various sites, i came up with this.
section i needed dammed in with plastecine (kids stuff)
Cleaned, waxed, PVA sprayed.
many thick layers.
pulled out, looks like this.
Box built, scrap reinforcement.
taped on.
holes on bottum, to pour in concrete.
An rough sketch of what i need.
The sheet metal was clamped down. Then just lightly hammering on it with, with various hammers.
Then mig welded on . few tweaks were needed, befor it was a good fit.
Overall very satisfied .
The fiberglas held up pretty good, not much damage. even tho only made with cheap polyester resin.. But you cant beat too hard on it.
Have made one more patch panel since, on the same form. But the concrete has crumpled.
Was just what i wanted to share... hopefully to some use.
