made a quick utube vid about it. not the best lol.
still working on it, but i like messing and making things.
going to release the files as open source as soon as its perfected a bit more so anyone can mess about with it.
Not only nice but also good timing as I need a pedal, looked at the vid in slowmotion and would like to see more detail.
For me I think I would like it more closed because of the dirt in my shop, I do like to see the mechanics though.
Wireless maybe?
Anyway, I am looking forward to see more.
wow thanks for the replys, this design was only just to get it up and running to see if it would all work. the pedal design needs some more work like you say to stop dirt getting in.
i have made a wireless pedal but not with all the pulse funtions yet as thinking of sorting all that out makes me want to jump out a window pmsl.
my welders out is 10v but i am looking into adding a circuit to switch between 0-5v and 0-10v output then it should work on almost any welder.
the gear on the pot has a cam that hits the microswitch, its really simple just getting the ratio was a pain in the ass.
thanks
If you are going to change the design you might want to have look at the SCC TIG pedals, they seem to be very popular and considered one of the best.
Low and wide seems like ideal, the Fronius pedal at work has a plastic bar over it so you can lift it up with your foot, I find that convenient.
I have an old welder so only need a switch and a 47Kohm pot.
