Apart from the 2 holes on the 2nd to bottom pic, looks pretty decent. It's good to practice on scap. By the way, i love the saw in the bottom pic, is it a wood saw that you put a metal blade in? Would love one of those mate!
yes the saw has a blade that cuts metal and wood,i only want it for metal, i think the porosity came from dampness in the rods? i cleaned the work piece with acetone but didnt wipe off the rods and Ireland is a damp country lol
Some of the porosity and undercut will be down to the millscale, poor gas coverage and/or touch downs don't help with regards to porosity. Won't be the filler wire unless it's gas welding wire or is kept in the pond.
I did have a touchdown in the corner and to be fair the grinder i use to sharpen the tungsten was very contaminated with rust/graese ect - its a garage but as said i just thought id post some pics for the laugh, ill try upload something i get right next time lol
