I can’t hide my incompetence with you watchingi dont think that pot will fill your mold up it wants chucking in the bin
That’s just sitting thereAwesome
ill be interested to see how it comes out shrinkage wise, filling from the centre
are they putting risers in to vent too ?
2cwtHow big is it? Not very unless thats a massive shovel!
That’s just sitting there
With steel all that stuff is critical
Cast A2 tool steelPresumably all cast steel construction without the need for a separate high carbon steel surface. I'm guessing the Hardy hole will be cast in situ.
How are you handling the heat treat?
They look like blind exothermic feeders. I presume the open head (pour cup holds the ceramic filter? Made by Foseco / Vesuvius STP 100?The other tubes are exothermic tubes to help with shrinking
Prototype is lovely so I’d say I’ve got away with itThey look like blind exothermic feeders. I presume the open head (pour cup holds the ceramic filter? Made by Foseco / Vesuvius STP 100?
Looks like the pattern for the hardy hole has two core prints ready for the core?
Surprised the base does not have at least a minimal core to take some of the mass away during solidification, but i suppose its only a small anvil so you might get away with it.
Have you cut up the prototype or x-rayed it? I know it sounds like sacrilege but its the only real way of proving it soundPrototype is lovely so I’d say I’ve got away with it
