What do you think of the dip and e-coat? Does it remove filler, sealant, and rust in pits? Also has it got into all the box sections - look like some you've exposed are a little bare. Why did you have it dipped before welding?
I looked at having that done but for some reason they wanted a great deal more money for my little Renault than your big bus. Something to do with the seperate chassis even though I offered to bolt the body on. Must admit I didn't trust them to neutalise the acid in the seams either.
Looking tidy work. I like the jig for welding on the side panel.
Bus was dipped to loose filler and paint rust etc ,clean basis for welding etc.
Wen the bus waz dipped it had a cargo floor and belly pans on,hence the ecoat hasnt got inside the belly pans.Wouldnt expect it to get it as the belly pans are so flat and have very few holes, reckon wen submerged in the acid tank it would ov gone round sides etc.
All box sections ive cut into apart from the cargo area are full ov ecoat,
If the subaru wrc team use surface processing and many top restoration companies,im sure ill be allright ,depends what the shells like before u dip it .
If it looks bad itll be even worse when it comes out .
Long panel bonded on with weld bond awesome stuff wen clamped up u can hear the glass beads crunch
