Took half the roof off the workshop this morning, then it rained, forecast was for nice. Grrrr.
Old abestos sheets came off in one piece, all damped down as we went & placed in purpose made disposal bags with liner & lifting straps. Going to cost me several arms & legs to get them picked up for disposal.
Nice pile of insulated steel roofing sheets to go on.

Don't know about your area but we can take asbestos roof panels to our tip and they supply the bags or visqueen sheeting. (First you have to register it is coming from your domestic property and go in to collect the bags). There is a limit to quantity but I have never had any trouble but they may have altered things since covid.

Up early & took the tarps off, just got going bolting the purlins in & it chucked it down! Rigged a tarp off the neighbours trees & To a weather vane on the greenhouse, needs must! Got all but one of the sheets on one side. Its now apparent that they sent more sheets than the job needed, I have checked the measurements & they are ok so dunno what happened there.
And so it would be a shame to throw it away so there will be an overhanging roof at the front of the shed & a shelter over the back door of the house, that will please the wife!

A job I will need to do next summer need to re felt the office but the workshop is a mix of Asbestos-cement and clear corrugated plastic its cracking and curling up at the edges.
Did you find a local supplier or order on line?

All the local suppliers had a minimum order, way more than i needed, in the end i went to Rollaclad based in Swansea. Fast & efficient & they seem to be used to dealing with small projects as well as big ones.
Length of building x width & ridge details if any, then more materials arrived than i needed anyway. Looks the nuts now & cant wait to get the other half done. That looks like monday & tuesday next week at this rate.

Heavy rain over the weekend, sure was glad we hadnt taken all the roof off! Bit of a leak down the wall where the gutter didnt get finished but not too bad.
Heres a couple of pics. First one the good side, Ridge held down temporaily with sandbags.

Well its all done, with the weather being iffy Monday before last we spent all day erecting an awning to cover the side we hadnt done.
So tuesday when it threw it down with rain we were able to work in the dry & take the other side right off.
Rest of the week was spentsorting the wall plate & purlins out & friday we started putting panels on. Finished putting them on on Saturday.
Mon & Tuesday this week doing eaves & ridge panels & sorting all the little finishing jobs off.
Well pleased, warm as toast in there now to the extent i had to turn the oil filled rad off this afternoon as it got too warm!
