Murex 165 wire feed issue

Hi all,

I have just bought myself an old murex 165 which seems good all except for the wire feed control - it works seemingly correctly from settings 0-6, stops feeding all together between 7 and 8 then past 8 goes full tilt. Am I right in thinking this could be a dodgy pot? Or is there something else to this conundrum?

That sounds like the pot new, one not expensive remember it will be a linear scale, not log.

Had the same prob on mine.
from memory less than a tenner from RS.

Well she is working just perfect now, got her running a good weld, once I've repaired my van I will have a proper play with the stitch weld knobs and check they're working well too
