Surprises me that dado sets for table saws appear to be outlawed in the UK but are readily available in the US, seems they make saws for the European market with shorter arbours to prevent their use.

Does the table saw blade spin while the planer is being used?...saves a bit of cash on manufacture I would guess....just stick a note in the instructions to always remove the saw blade before using the planer .

I don't like using any tools that can remove more than a few fingers at a time...so far this rule of "thumb" has always worked for me .

I have both blade in the left on my makita hypoid and all the others blade to the right

Horses for courses. Blade on the left is easier to see the cut as a righty but a pita for slicing short lengths off a piece. Blade on the right the opposite.

Ambidextrous in all but writing anyway
