MR2 Car strech .. anyone capable in the UK ?

Then have custom made longer sills with extra reinforcement inside.

The standard MR2 shell is very strong....that central turret houses the fuel tank and is about a foot deep....inside the sills is a load of reinforcement too.

Cutting the roof off does weaken the shell....but Toyota did produce a limited run of Spyder versions of this MR2....you might be able to find some info on how they strengthened those cars?

I would think you should make or buy complete new sills. Jig to move and brace it once cut, replace sills, add in new sections for the floor pans and tunnel.

the Spyder is a seriously rare car only ever seen one in the flesh

they did, a t bar with lift out panels and a
Targa with full lift out panel no t bar to join the b post to a post section

When me and a friend shortened a beetle chassis yonks ago,we cut 14” out as guided by an old California buggy manual he had,as it was an off reader it had a good work out andd no welds cracked.

I have a 1995 Toyota mr2 mk2 in need of a stretch of 10 inches to accommodate a kit car shell which i would like to place on top.

I have seen this done before a while back when kit car was more poplar, what was used was two pieces of 2"x4" tube steel 3mm thick and welded it inside each rocker panel allowing about 5" extra on each side of each brace to extend up into the rock-panel cavity
or maybe using another floor pan and cutting the 10 inches out and welding them together
