Not strictly automotive but couldnt find the right section.
Anyroadup. It started when i decided that old faithful needed a coat of paint as it had a few signs of rust. Following an innitial clean with the pressure washer! it all got out of hand and i just had to do it. If nothing else, to prove to myself as an ex pro that i still had it.















Though not really cost effective, im actually thoroughly enjoying myself.

No anoraking - I just had a pair of them recently. One I got from a guy at work for free coz it wouldn't run, then I picked one up at the scrapyard also a non-runner, fixed the valve clearances on both, kept one and and sold the other for £40.

No mate they are Cleko's american by design i think but an absolute boon to the fabrication business. My main project is a complete resto on a Mk1 Escort with bubble arch job where they come in handy for holding multiple panels in place whilst you allign adjacent ones. You get a special tool for them like a pliar and you can set one in about 2 seconds.

i will probably have to do mine soon it has all the tiny rust spots appearing through the paint, problem is its our fault in the first place we cut the grass then put the mower away with removing the damp grass first

Common fault. Reason. Nice cup of tea seems more inviting than scraping grass out.
Give yourself plenty of time to do it. I think mine was held together with grass and not a single hole in it when i started just rust bubbles

you mean cut the grass first

mine is full of rust bubbles not sure if its just one side of or both, i might chicken out until winter when its not needed, unless it falls apart before that

i might stonechip it after its done as well as a 2k paint job, get some go faster stripes and and metal flake might get the grass cut faster

well i was thinking of just daubing a bit of dulux on it BUT. now youve got me thinking????????
Ill get the rest of the welding done and see how tall the grass is eh.

Nice work! Looks like you're using the stitch technique? I've been using this technique for my car as most of it involves thin metal. I think it looks good and is very controllable but does it knacker the welder?

You would think so but ive had this sealey for about 20 years and used it professionaly for at least half the time. most of my work is on 21gge and all by pulsing.
