Moving house

I started on packing the garage today, seems like its going to take a hell of an amount of boxes.

We move in 9 weeks but haven't found anywhere to go yet so probably the entire house contents will have to go into storage.

A mate will "look after" the lift so won't need to worry about how to get that into the back of the removal lorry but will have to find a way to get it into a transit van. I'm sure there will be a way with my engine crane.

Haha, both the Jag and the Merc will have to go back into storage too which is a bummer, the Jags not been driven since it came out of storage at the start of the month since the weather has been so bad and the Mercs only done 200miles since the engine rebuild.

Hope we get some decent top driving weather soon.

We put an offer in on a place with a garage and a workshop a couple of weeks ago but didn't get it since there was also a cash buyer, and we hadn't sold, at least for the next one we will be in a better position.

Mine goes up for sale next Monday so I will be in a similar position. Fortunately I have secured somewhere for the workshop to reside until we get a new place sorted Good luck with the move!

first of 2 artic's loaded with the milling machines n lathes plus the 2poster car lifts.....plus god knows.....
used about a 100 sheets of 3/4 n 1/2 ply for the crates.....almost a lifetimes acquisitions in tools n tooling....
just hope I live long enough to enjoy setting it all up and getting to work.....lol.......
employed a good friend for 6 weeks to help.....
all this lot went into covered storage in Crete.....only a set of pro Youngmans tripple ladders and 2 large ally towers went missing....owner of the firm paid for replacements.......the guy got sacked, bad thing here as there is no real work....
by the way the scrap man had a good tickle.....hahaha..just wished I could have brought the digger as well....oh well.....

I moved here 13 years ago with 12 tons of machinery which took about 8 trips with a hi-ab flat bed. Since then I’ve accumulated a LOT of stuff, so I’m afraid moving is NOT an option !

I am still tripping over/sorting through gear I brought here over a year ago from a farm I sold, took one of my lads three months to box up stuff and countless truckloads of machines/junk. I am with @awemawson, never moving again and staying unless the gear stays with this place

I am considering this for my move too. If everything is pre boxed it will be simple. @RaceDiagnostics I hope it goes well, as I said in your other thread, I am dreading the day. The house I don't care about as we are intending to only take personal items and a couple of TV,s. The workshop is far more important!

That was part of the reason I had a big clear out last year tbh

At some point in the nearish future we will be moving.

As it stands now I can clear both the garage and shed into my lockup ready for a move

I only really started kitting out my shed 18 months ago, Its approx 4.5 x 12m, first few weeks it was huge with plenty of space, then the lawnmowers had to move into shed 2 as I needed the room, next it was the bikes and garden furniture moving into shed 3. I really don't fancy moving any time soon.

I have the same problem,
Shed 1 - 6m x 9m
Though the contents of shed 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, still seem to be in Shed 1

Know the feeling, I had an absolutely brutal downsizing from a lifetime of acquisitions also. From our fifteen thousand square foot barn, mostly filled, I ended up with a 20 foot seatrain container of the things I thought I couldn't live without. Now, I've been thinking about another downsizing, as my new garage has just under 30 square metres of floor space. I've gone from this. ..................


............to this below. But life is much simpler.
