I’m still half looking for another Kwik Kwak H1 or H2 triple…. Should one happen along.

I would increase my number of bikes for another one of those, but have no spare kidneys to pay for a good one.

The last couple of days there was a bit of a petrol smell in the garage, after a bit of searching I found there was a weep on the fuel return line at the tank where there is a short section of rubber hose.

Unfortunately the garage contents are now packed. Time to search for my fuel line, only had to open ten boxes before finding it.

I hope there's not 50l of petrol swilling round in the garage tomorrow morning, already tried pinching up the hose clips with no joy.

This is the problem, surprising as its only 6 years old.

I drained out ~50l into two 25l containers.

Cut a new piece of hose and fitted it.

An easy repair that was extended by the hour it took to drain the tank.

I stopped using that braid covered hose years ago. It's shockingly bad for perishing.

Yep, I will give it six months, tops. The only hoses to consider are GENUINE Gates R9 or Cohline 2240. I sell the latter and haven't had a single negative comment since I started retailing it, six years ago.

If you are CERTAIN that it is Cohline, send me the leaky bit and I will submit to the factory for investigation. I am sure they will be very keen to look at it.

I'm not looking forward to moving my workshop, I think it'll be several trips with one machine at a time on a plant trailer, just need to buy the trailer, a car with a tow bar to pull it, and an engine crane to load everything. That's before we even get to the shelves, cupboards and buckets of crap I'm saving just in case, a lot of it will end up in the bin I think. Luckily, mum doesn't ever plan on moving house so it's all staying in her garage until I've got a garage of my own to put it in.

Moving home from uni is a more imminent worry. When I came up, we had the car absolutely packed to the roof, plus two bikes in another car. When I moved at the start of this year, it took two full car loads, including stuff piled on the front seat while I walked with bikes and the bouldering mat, luckily just around the corner. Since then I've added four big speakers, three corny kegs, two hundred kilos of weight plates and a partridge in a pear tree and loads of other stuff I've forgotten, like that microscope. Hopefully borrowing a Luton and it's driver but I don't have a clue where it's all going when I'm home, my bedroom is barely big enough for the bed.

The trouble is, by creating "24-hour News", they've created a Monster which demands to be fed.

They must now fill the time without being too repetitious, so that they now tell us about things which in truth aren't that interesting, have nothing to do with us and which we simply don't need to know.

And they have the gall to call it progress....

I've found the answer to that really annoying trend. On my radio there is a button in the top R/H corner and if I press it I'm blessed with a serene silence. never fails. As for the TV I let SHMBO watch it and give me a 10 second precis . Progress towards what ?

The letters L.C.D . come to mind and as a friends son who works in Elf n safety when I was taking the micky one day saying its all down to common sense replied " trouble is with common sense it not that common.
