Moving a single axle trailer on my Minno trailer

Ah, it’s about three hours away. But, thanks to the excellent suggestions offered, a plan has evolved in my peanut brain.

Acquire suitable sleeper. Pocket a little for trailer drawbar ring - if I could be bothered. Use circular saw to make a couple of furrows to sit the sleeper across the two beds and locate laterally. Once positioned correctly fore / aft, use the Makita impact driver (which I still feel is the equivalent of the “Little Gun” in MIB) to drive in some coach bolts from below with appropriate penny washers. Lash trailer down and then lash drawbar to sleeper. The wheels will be what stops the trailer from moving, and the sleeper will support the drawbar (transferring the weight the the wheel beds).

Took my little trailer, 5x3 ish to collect a Christmas tree from the local garden centre a few years ago. One of the suspension units fell apart due to rust just as we arrived, luckily didn't fail on the road at speed! Left it in their yard. Next day borrowed a tri axle Ifor Williams flat bed from my brother's work and went to pick it up. Was thinking it was gonna be a hell of a job to get it shoved up the ramps with one wheel waggling in the wrong direction. As luck would have it one of their staff was driving a forklift across the yard as I arrived. Loaded with ease, strapped down and transported home. Gravity helped unloading. An excuse for some welding and a trailer refurb followed.

A successful day today. After a bit of thought, I collected my new trailer on my Minno. Loaded backwards for CG reasons, and drawbar resting on dunnage that was coach-bolted in from below. The sling strops were a new one for me, but seemed to work well. A bit more stroppage, and then it was a 4 hour journey home.

The trailer is bouncy a anything unladen. Not too bad with a load on. I carry the ramps in the car, as the rattling is unnerving!

Just stick some rubber on the cross members/axle tub where the ramps sit.

Quietened mine down, but it has removed the opportunity to scare the living **** out of pedestrians, cyclists, small kids when it used to CRAS BANG WHALLOP over bumps

That's an interesting looking little trailer, what's it for, motorcycles?
Looks to have 14" Morris Minor wheels so spares for those won't be an issue.

I had the same rattling issue with the ramps on my PRG trailer (very similar design).
From some rubber flooring, I made some "washers" that you have to compress to get the dagger pins in.
Stopped the rattle so well, the first trip with them I kept stopping and checking the ramps were still there ...

Yep, that’s the type. The eye is smaller, but I would like to convert to standard hitch if possible. My factory fit towbar in one piece, and standard ball.

The trailer is pretty beefy, but has stowable handles, and I can move it single handed. Nice project!
