Ah, it’s about three hours away. But, thanks to the excellent suggestions offered, a plan has evolved in my peanut brain.
Acquire suitable sleeper. Pocket a little for trailer drawbar ring - if I could be bothered. Use circular saw to make a couple of furrows to sit the sleeper across the two beds and locate laterally. Once positioned correctly fore / aft, use the Makita impact driver (which I still feel is the equivalent of the “Little Gun” in MIB) to drive in some coach bolts from below with appropriate penny washers. Lash trailer down and then lash drawbar to sleeper. The wheels will be what stops the trailer from moving, and the sleeper will support the drawbar (transferring the weight the the wheel beds).
