Moving a Beaver Mill

Has anyone got any idea of the weight of a Beaver turret mill? A mate of a mate is selling one and I have a space in the corner of my workshop.

Looking at lathes uk site it mentions everything except weight, I would imagine you are looking at 3/4 ton?

I`d reckon on at least 11/2 to 2 ton

small Harrison lathes are 3/4 ton, this is a brute by comparison.

If it's similar to a bridgeport you're on the safe side at 1,5 tonnes
But are top heavy when using rollers or skates.

Standard Bridgeport turret is approx 3/4 ton. Beavers clones are quite heavily made, maybe a ton.

My Beaver Partsmaster CNC mill is about 4 tons iirc

BridgePorts seen anywhere from 1800 lbs to 2200 lbs, sorry about the Imperial.

Wells-Index 860: 3600 lbs
TOS FNK 25: 3740 lbs
Deckel FP-3: 3750 lbs

And after some agonising and plotting I'm off to have a closer look at the mill and the workshop roof...

Well, that was a bit disappointing. The Beaver turned out to be a TOS - half as big again and out of the question for my little workshop
