I started building an off road camper a while or two ago. Something I could use in my retirement. The rolling chassis is sitting outside getting nicely weathered. The panels that make up the sides will be torsion boxes filled with insulation and cabling where required. I built the first panel (the base) last year and set it aside while I got on with other jobs. It was sitting up against the wall in my workshop behind other bits and pieces. When I looked it out the other day I noticed black lines on the plywood sheet.
Mould????
They follow the pattern of the internal structure of PSE timber. The 6mm thick plywood sheet is glued and nailed onto the framework underneath. Could moisture from the glue worked its way through the ply and allowed the mould to grow? I PSE timber was sitting in my workshop for a while. Could it have soaked up moisture? There is no evidence of mould anywhere else in the workshop and it is dry, if a bit cold. I've gone over areas of it with sandpaper. but it in into the grain. Not a big deal as I was going to sheet over it anyway, but I'd rather avoid it in the future.
