Thats a wiper arm removal toolI have one of these I think. I thought it would be crap but I do my Dirtbike chains with it. It’s so simple and so effective. I wouldn’t waste my time with a punch after getting this. Would highly recommend to be honest.

Split links can be used on high power bikes though riveted links reduce risk as if properly done cannot come unattached. I have bought a bike before with the split link on the wrong way.Excuse my ignorance, genuine question, are split links not used on motorcycle chains? Maybe only on low power stuff?, I remember my Suzuki GS125 of 1986 vintage had one.

Great little bike. Had mine painted orange, like a mini Laverda JotaI spent many miles thrashing a GS125 trying to make it go as fast as my RD125LC!
They could certainly take a beating!
On a small cc bike I would use a split link, its just easier,Thanks for the replies as always gents and lady(@KimB )
The bike is only a 200cc as struggles past 65mph it’s geared for off road really so not too fussed about it flying off at silly rpms
I was hoping to borrow one from a mate today but the selfish fella is away for the weekend, how dare he!
Will use the grinder today as I have done in the past just wanted a tool for the box as if I’m at a race circuit/enduro it can be a pain to source power
The new one has a split link in so is fine to go back on it will also add 5bhp as it’s a flashy gold one

As I read that my first thought was do you want to sell itMy motorbike one is ancient, I do have a campagnolo Bicycle chain splitter its a joy to use and the local bike shop is often trying to buy it off me but as it was a gift from the Campag rep many years ago and it brings it all back when I use it its staying.
Its just a joy to use, I know its juts a tool but it works so well. I had the Story of Campag book but foolishly lent it out have you seen the price of them!As I read that my first thought was do you want to sell it![]()
So as it happened I had to cut the face off the pins and they took some real hammering to remove on the up side the new chain was a joy to fit with the split link
I took a quick pic before I used my paddock stand to lift the bike up as I didn’t want the dust in my garage(from the grinder)
The gold chain is a nice match for the tank paint work plus it adds 5bhp in cool factor

As soon as i left a post i kinda new it was a "stage shot"Was just a quick snap before I adjusted it fully
the adjusters have been fitted properly now as the wheel was as far forward as possible to save scratching the freshly painted swing arm
