Reminds me of the time I was at the Bol d'or 24 hour race, at Circuit Paul Ricard. Sunday afternoon, race was over, all officials and racers have packed up, and the spectators were allowed to ride the track.

Some swarthy Italian dude ripping round on a Katana, wearing nothing but shorts and trainers.

He lost the front end on the curve, top end of the Mistral straight, hit the ground on hand and knees....... but soon whipped his hands up and then rolled..... Last I saw he was sat on the track, looking at his hands, shoulders, knees, elbows...... peeled like a potato.

I've worn gloves whenever I ride since then, every time.

When we were camping in Spain one time, on the next pitch was a Dutch trauma surgeon, similar to our A & E consultant, he was horrified to see the Spanish kids riding around on scooters, helmets undone & t shirts & shorts, he said “I can mend bones but I can’t replace flesh” I always remember that when I see people on Motorcycles with no kit on.

I lived in Thailand for a couple of years, and just about every younger person I met had a 'Thai tattoo' on their lower legs, from gravel rash falling off over loaded under skilled scooters.
They seem to develop far worse scars than we westerners, probably because they think the scab that forms has to be picked off immediately to aid healing......

aye mate, that's where I got my jacket...but I've got this Amazon 'cash' to spend so might aswell use it or I'll get fixated on something else I can't afford

I really like my RST textiles. I have some trousers and an adventure style jacket, with removable armour and linings for warmth. Been commuting on the bike for the last month or so, 30 mins each way. Got caught in some showers but never soaked to my skin.
I also have the best gloves I've ever had also - - RST Paragon 6. Comfortable, waterproof, warm.
Never had leather trousers but got a couple of leather jackets, I prefer leather in the summer as it makes me sweat less!

Flexible enough not to hinder kick starting ability and reinforced knees to prevent injury when kneeling to pray it starts

It was either the pants or a dash cam. This happened yesterday

Someone wasn’t looking at a junction

Still happy though, even without footage insurance say it’s open + shut, but I’ll probably get one eventually.

I had one before pandemic. The colours are from my knee leathers were fine no damage.

Camera can do more harm than good, I wont use one.

No luckily I wasn’t on the bike, that’s my car after a Volvo encounter. No chance of a cam or anything like that on the bike, no battery

Beauty. I had a 64 years ago, tuned by very knowledgeable texan friend. I still miss it. I had a '96 at one point, but it was nowhere near as good, though it did need far less tinkering!
