Hi all,
The feed motor on my newly acquired Bridgeport is poorly, it lets the magic smoke out when I run it. It's had new brushes, cleaned up inside, commutator skimmed, resistance checked and commutator leads restaked to decrease areas with high resistance.
So I reckon it needs a rewind. I've contacted a couple of firms with no response...I take it for a little 90v DC motor it's not worth their hassle, a new motor is hilariously expensive at £577 ex vat, be cheaper getting a pair of new power feed units and adding one to the saddle. Also considering getting a 48v DC electric bike motor and running it from the internal transformer.
Anything else I can check or possibly rectify at home?...turning into a bit of a money pit this bridgie.
