Motor pulley removal help.

I'm trying to pull this pulley off an electric motor which came off a cement mixer.
There was a roll pin through the pulley which i knocked out without issue.
I now need to get this pulley off but I'm unsure if the end of this shaft has been peened over?
Anybody know how these are fitted on and how to remove it?
The pulley is expendable if I need to cut it off!

An alloy pulley and a steel shaft with the roll pin removed, + the addition of concrete and years of dampness = seized.

A bearing puller and some heat "might" help it move, if not it's a cut n throw jobbie....

DON'T pullit!
It'll end in tears.
Neighbour tried to help me out pulling one, broke his puller. Thankfully HE broke it, I just wanted the pulley off.
I ended up cutting it off.

Lot of heat with map gas/oxy torch, a few times might help, and a FB hammer.
but galvanic corrosion is a bugger.
some have used light acids like coke or vinegar to dissolve the bond.

I would go straight to cutting it off with a grinder and not waste time trying other things.

Get a puller on it, tension it up and then heat the pulley.
Be prepared for the bang when it lets go!

I have popped off chainsaw flywheels by holding the pulley or flywheel and thwacking the end of the crankshaft with a ball pein hammer. This is bigger and that method didn't work either!
I think cut it off is the way to go.

A two or three leg puller will probably damage the pulley, either a split type bearing puller which has a large flat surface, or as I do some times drill and tap two holes in the meat of the pulley to connect to a puller. That and bit of heat should do the trick.

It might almost fall off if heated sufficiently. There is a considerable difference between the coefficient of expansion of steel and aluminium.

Enough that even a decent hairdryer, never mind a paint heat gun, would probably work.

Build a well of putty on the pully.
With putty, flood with white vingar.
Warm the pully with a hot air part stripper, until spit bubbles. Do it slowly as you want the pully to warm and expand slowly. To let the vinegar to seep in.

This will take time.
Then with a flat face bearing puller behind the pully, place tension onto the pully.
Heat and slowly increase the pressure.
It will give, but it is a slow method.

Well good news, the pulley is off!
Before I got caveman with it I heated up the pulley with a mapp gas torch and dripped in some plus gas release oil.
I fully expected to be trying this multiple times but to my amazement after one tap of the hammer down and a wedge under the pulley moved!
One more heat and oil treatment the pulley came away easily?
Just goes to show....
