ESP or ESC, electronic stability program or control. It can be switched off.

Alternatively you could have a failure of one device associated with the ABS, such as a wheel sensor failure or cracked incremental ring etc.

Got my drivers sill done last week. Purchased a couple of sills and decided to chop one up and do a proper repair back to solid metal.

First time I’ve tried this way of removing spot welds, vertically grind with a finger file and peel off before dressing it back and spraying with weld through etch primer.

I’ve since painted both ends of the sill so it looks presentable but not perfect. The weather wasn’t with me so it was being painted in the rain with a slight covering of plastic.

Car finally got its mot on Saturday and my Cooper sold on Weds so this one is now all legal. £20/yr tax too!

Forgot to update this, got my mate to sort my Polo GTi rims I bought. Really happy with the outcome. Looks far nicer. Always said wheels are the jewellery of a car.

As I amgiven to telling people who say this to me. My time is only "free" If I don't value it. Stuff I do to entertain myself though, that's a different matter.

This crossed my mind last week, a guy I know who is a little bit ‘up himself’ stopped me when I was finishing up cleaning the Boxster and commented on it “oh, another project?”
I said “yeah, got it for a good price with a few minor things to sort” and he commented (quite derogatorily I thought) “worth about £1200?”, so he’s already in my sh*tlist, and then starts
telling me that he’d spoken to a mate of mine how we were gonna do a camper conversion for him once he sorted out a cheap VW T5! “around£9-£10k”

So I said, “you can f**k right off, got enough projects of my own to sort” and he said “yeah, but they don’t pay” to which I reminded him, “they don’t need to pay, that’s why I spend two weeks per month offshore so don’t need money and enjoy spending my own time on my own toys!” I also informed him my last T5 camper owed me £21k by the time it was done bc I’d paid someone else to do my conversion!

By this point he realised he’d got my back up and would be doing him NO favours so he is now trying to smooth things over and telling me he’d come to see me once he’d found a suitable van. Told him not to bother!

You know, I’ll do anything for anyone that needs help if I can easy their troubles even if it costs me my own time, but some people just can’t help themselves!

Saw it on Twitter yesterday, one of the guys I follow in Wigan needs to clear out this garage to get a car in there after losing his storage. Also selling a US import KZ650 (£1250), FZ750 Genesis (track bike purchase) £700and Ducati 600SS (trying to hold on to this as long as possible). All projects but fairly priced.
I pounced on the Blade sharpish and sent a deposit (collecting Tuesday with any luck) and would have liked the Z but I have to be sensible.

I had an FZ750 for about 5-years (it was 12-13 years-old when I got it). Great, reliable and fast for a 1987 750cc m-cycle. I had lots of fun thrashing it about - the 16" & 18" skinny cross ply tyres (that it ate) & a seat like a vinyl covered concrete lintel the only negatives.

I know right! I don’t have much more room here, got a 73 camper on its side, a TL1000S, 94 FirebladeStreetfighter, ER5 cafe racer and by Tuesday evening another 95 Fireblade in one garage along with my grandsons quad, and an Urban blade, Daytona and 929 blade, a bike lift, an atlas late and big bench in the other garage. It’s getting kinda tight!

Well, I collected the Blade today. A nice addition was a Nitron rear shock which will now find its way on to the Urban Tiger and I’ll get the spare one powder coated to go back on the black one.
I also had the pleasure of meeting @Greeves246. What a gentleman and a REAL Biker with an interesting past. It was a pleasure Colin. Thank you for the warm welcome.

That's the spirit. Personally I cannot see why 250k is unachievable in most modern (well, built in the last 15 years) cars as long as regular oil changes feature in the maintenance schedule.

My 05 Saab 9-5 estate just passed this week on 255,000 miles - oil changed every 6k miles without fail. Coupe of advisories on rear rose bushes on suspension arms but these have been on the way out for a couple of years - spares in shed but a pain of a job having done it before.

Tried the old girl last night with some fresh ziggys attached, cranking over well, wouldn’t start. Coughing but no go. Drained fuel, replaced with fresh. Removed the tank and Airbox, squirted a whiff of brake cleaner into the bells, fired up instantly, heavy knock, thought the worse, pulled in the clutch knock went away, whew! Carbs off next time. Prolly gonna buy a 10L ultrasonic cleaner. Still not repaired my big old Ultrawave freebie, got no excuse, even managed to buy a new transducer from Ali Express to repair it! Who knows, might even repair that and save myself a few hundred quid instead of buying new.
Still need to find out how to attach the US transducer.
