MOT a car on spare wheel?

Thanks for all the replies it helped me to not really try it with the spare I
As it is likely to fail then.

I will try to get the wheel back by next weekend. If not I have my other w220 with a good full set of 18s on my lift. I believe it's wheels should fit my 600 as temporary measure.

Appropriate weight and speed rating of the tyres? If the NI MoT test centres are as pedantic and observant as I've heard they may pick up on such things.

My S430 has all Bridgestone tyres they will be good speed rating wise etc



It is a V8 LWB W220 And always passed MOT no issues.

It came with replica AMG 18s. Which I had pro refurbished as they suited that car well

I ordered the Hankook Evo 2 tyre 275 30 R20 and my wheel guy is taking the wheel for repair this Saturday. It'll be next week until all is done in that regard and the 600 gets its wheels back.

We had a visit from the lad that looks after our test station.
He is X DVSA and really knows his stuff .
Sort of gamekeeper turned poacher .
I mentioned the steel spare wheel .
As I said fail on different tyre sizes on same axle
On the subject of 2 on the same axle it would be a pass .

Update on this

My S600 passed MOT this evening with 18 inch wheels up front and 20s on the back.

That is, matched pairs on the axles. So 2no 18 wheels on front and 2no 20 wheels on the back.



Thanks all for the replies and @doubleboost for double checking the regs.

If I had have went with 1no spare wheel it likely would have failed.

I will have it's original wheel back in a few days all being well and it'll be back to normal then
