Hi bud, do you still have the spare barson drift? Would you be interested in selling it? Had a nightmare at work and managed to snap the blade on our oneI've got one going spare, the Barson drift that is, if you are interested.
People do strange things to avert the Boss‘s wrath ….You joined to bump a 2 year old thread and to see if you could buy something?
Yeah I know seems daft but can't find a replacement anywhere and want to put it right as it was me who broke itYou joined to bump a 2 year old thread and to see if you could buy something?
Haha have already said to the boss he was fine about it just feel bad about it have always been careful with mine and other people's tools, but a moment's thoughtless and I succeeded in wrecking itPeople do strange things to avert the Boss‘s wrath ….
Was pulling my hair out when I checked online to see if I could replace it and learned how old it was but as the day honesty is the best policyPeople do strange things to avert the Boss‘s wrath ….
Now I’m even more keen to see / buy / make one.Not quite that simple, the "roll pin" is actually a grub screw and there is a spring inside the cast brass part which should keep the drift sticking out. You put it in the drill's slot and shove hard against the brass part, so it acts as a slide hammer.
Yanking on it sideways to turn the spindle (the hammer body gives a lot of leverage) - obviously just bends the drift end.How the hell do you abuse a drift to separate tapers?!,!
I have a copper drift like that,Holy thread resurrection Batman. I went and snapped this pic before I realised actually.
I've had all of these over 40 years, and I still use them occasionally.
