Just a suggestion, what about using a hand surform type tool to remove the bulk first. You can remove a lot of stock without clogging, quite quickly, and it wouldn’t be too difficult to rig up some sort of depth stop to just leave you with a little to finish off.

Great for deburring.
I found that the cheaper Detroit brand seemed to take the most off and last the longest, which was handy. Now onto hull number 2!
