More workshop wireing

[Spark plug]

I'm rapidly running out of room in my workshop DB. Currently I have a number of 16a 3P+n+pe sockets wired individualy from the DB, but as I'm running out of space is there an acceptable alternative.

I.E. Is it acceptable to wire 2 or 3 sockets on a radial circuit?

loop a few together in the db if u have them all as radials. u arent likely to use them all at same time . or run 2 0r 3 sockets of each other on a radial

It's very unlikely that they will be used at the same time I'm adding another socket for the linsher as I'm fed up with unplugging the saw to plug it in.

even if u tried to overload it it would only trip and not damage anything as long as breaker is correct rating for the cable

Cable spec is fine, C16 MCB's and 2.5 swa

the only thing i will ad is if your using 16 amp 3 phase sockets .some of your smaller machines may only require 6 amps per phase .in that case run a 2.5mm _3 or a 4 core and earth flex from the plug to a 6 amp tpn breaker on your machine

Good idea, when I fitted the DB I never in a million years thort I would ever fill a 14 way board.

Dose the overload relay in the DOL starter not provide adequate protection?

yes from overloading the motor but not a short on the windings or cable feeding it
