A big tradition seems to be make a work bench/welding trolly thingy. This was my first project, and has evolved over the years, at first it was simply four legs with a top and a firebrick hearth for gas welding, then it grew wheels and a handle/arm rest courtesy of Safeways. Then I started Mig welding so it grw a shelf and some hooks to control all the cables for the welder and plasma cutter. It used to have a large steel plate that hung on the back for Mg welding on but I dont need that now I have a decent workspace. I was going to ditch it but have realised it is to have things mobile to save lugging them al over the place al the time.
The second pic is of a simple way of looking after the torch and leads for the Mig welder, keeps them tied up and safe.
