More sticking together

Not realy projects , more like stuff ive been meaning to do for ages

This has been on my to do list for a while I need a trolley to transport my Petter Diesel about and that porters trolley is just the job but it is the wrong shape So after five minutes with an angle grinder

It looked like this

And then after some edge prep some grinding and a look at with the welder it now looks like this .

I need to weld some gussets on the corners but I will do that when I remove the engine and before I paint the new trolley

I am allso sick of falling over the kids bikes and moving them out of the way drives me nuts so a hoist was needed to lift them out of the way , I was going to use a hanging basket bracket on the wall but it did not look very strong so I had to make my own

Why did you not take the slag of the weld (every good welder does it)
And every good welder gets somebody els to paint it.......

My lister D is finished and ready to rally Try welding a large nut on top of the broken stud and the heat might help it free off

What's hanging down?
No where better to hang it than over the door?

The bikes are suspended on my car transport rack and when it is at the top of the pulley the central bar is just above the door lintel

crickey! Don't you need to get the engine weight more over the wheels so you are lifting less weight by the handles. Or are you going to get Geoff Capes to move it for you? lol...

Actually it is not as heavy as it looks ( But I may move it further forward to fit a three phase motor that I will convert to a generator )

what were tose engines used for in there days?

This one came from a Cement mixer that was left to rot in a field for ten years .

There is no engine plate on this one so I can not date it exactly but at a rough geuss I would say late fifties to early sixties .

They are allso found on dumper trucks and water pumps
