Okay, I didn't expect anyone to guess it, I just happened to open one and thought it was impressive.
Here's a better look:
The black and white cylinder is the actual sensor but it's mounted on two stepper motors to maneuver it. I can't figure out how the sensor and two steppers are being controlled with only 8 wires though, no idea what I'm gonna do with it either

The 100ml beaker is full of the oil it was filled with.
For the record, an endoscope end is a hell of a lot smaller
