More Beatles.........

Just finished a few more plasma 'sculptures' made as usual from 3mm steel. They look better from further away and have a sort of ghostly appearance (p'raps 'cos two of them are now ) and only work against a light background - a friend couldn't even see what they were at first!

I have also done the complete 'set' of single versions but all but Paul got 'removed' from the kitchen surface by swmbo and I can't find them now!

The other pic is from a local pub....he bought one of the Abbey Road sculptures and had a sign writer paint Beatles songs around it...looks great...he said modestly

Gerry, What can I say, SUPERB.I think you have well and truly got the hang of your plasma table now, What final finish are you usually using?

Thanks for your kind comments Gordon. I was just using matt black rattle cans but have now bought a mini spray gun and use cellulose matt black ready mixed paint off EBAY...takes a bit of getting used to but I'm getting better.

I really like that (but like your friend I looked at it for a few seconds before I recognized the image) - did you do the original artwork yourself or did you find it somewhere?

I saw a similar silhouette style drawing of Jimmy Hendrix up in a cafe once which would be really nice to have in metal.

Hi Graham......I try to find silhouettes that will adapt to use on the CNC. You have to be sure everything is 'attached' or when you cut it out something important like an eye or a nose will just fall out....can be really annoying!!

Hmmm, I seem to remember someone else mentioning the bit about everything being connected (possibly Chunko) - I see you have the eyes connected by a thin piece in some of those above. I guess if you slip-up you can always spark up the welder and re-attach a piece!? Thanks for the offer of a Hendrix but if I want one I guess I would have to make it myself freehand. I made a small one of those Spanish bulls for a friend a while ago which came out OK, although I had quite a bit of file work to get it right.

Very nice Gerry ,they are a lot better than the ones I have been doing free hand for some hanging basket brackets,i allways seem to develop the shakes as soon as I pick up the plasma
