With my plan to go to one of the Pickering steam fairs thwarted i decided to grab a camera and head down to Prospect Mills

True shame, Craftsman built lovely old building being allowed to deteriorate like that.

Its been in decline for years, I think getting listed status in 1983 may have actually been a bad thing, as it would have made modernising and updating it much more expensive, especially when the last of the textile firms left.

Kayos do you still use film or all digital ?

I do have a couple of DSLR's but tend to shoot much more film, in my "proper" bag i have both film and digital cameras that take the same lenses so i can pick and choose when i want, and not carry a huge amount of extra weight

The kit i used on this usually lives in the van, so ive always a half decent camera, but if some scrote steals it then its not mega money gone

Is that a chimney in the engine house extension or a water tower? Looks too short for a chimney and unusual for them to exit the main building roof.

According to the listed building page, its a chimney but its been felled.
