The last car I had was a 2004 A4 TDi. Owned it for over 6 years and it never failed the MOT on emissions and I never replaced any part of the exhaust.
Used to and from work every day, 6 and a bit miles each way so it was always plenty warmed up.
Now working a bit further afield so my annual mileage will be going up dramatically.
Might have to look at changing my current car though, I'm currently averaging around 28mpg if I drive it like a vicar.![]()
I got that from the 2009 SV8 driven in Vicar Mode. I passed that on to youngest back in March with 220k on the (undoctored) odometer. On 6 mile run into Haverford I got 19-22 though!
At 6 miles each way that's crying out for a cheap electric car isn't it?
Now doing about 13 miles each way so using best part of a gallon a day.
