Modifying wolf dakota compressor

Hi everyone, this is my first compressor I've purchased and I'm trying to bypass the regulator so I can use 1/2 fittings and hose etc...

I'm still learning and haven't even used the compressor yet but was wondering if anyone can confirm I'm doing this correctly before I add any thread sealant to complete it. I have attached some images below and hoping someone could take a look. Thanks, Ryan.

Can't comment on you connections (maybe look a bit bulky at the gun end) but would suggest you make up a bracket / stand to be able to hook the gun on between using as you need somewhere to place it that is not going to knock the (plastic ?) filter pot and break it!

Ah I just put the spray gun on for illustration purposes only...I am wanting to use a windy gun with this setup. The fittings are XF euro fittings I believe upon searching the other fittings seem restrictive? Thanks and for the reply

My only worry , not from an official point of view is that if anything happened to the filter / reg , ie got hit off , you’ve got a whole tank / vessel dumping it’s volume at you .

You’ve got no way to disconnect it when under load . I’d consider a valve at the tank , a short length of pipe and mount reg / filter on a wall .

Looks good reg wise stop tap before would be good though as @Sam mentioned, as @mike 109444 to much hanging off spray gun, will get in the way, heavier to hold, and more likely to drag hose over wet panel.

If I had all that hanging off a gun, Id put a coiled hose between the mini regulator and the hose quick connect, screw the coiled hose in to the mini reg, then quick connect up to the coiked hose. That would take some of the length off and make it a bit more flexible.

I've never had much problem with a windy gun running on 1/4 BSP fittings, a 10mm hose, for DIY use anyway.

I would have said you don't need all the extra paraphernalia hanging on the end of the hose for an impact gun - just flexi-hose from gun to connector, into your extension hose.

You'll need a car 3 feet in the air to paint the sills with all that hanging off the end Joking aside I don't have anything fastened to the gun but the air hose, the separator and regulator on the end of the tank is all I have. My compressor is same as that and runs most stuff I use quite efficiently but I don't use any rotary tools like die grinder. My rattle gun runs fine on a 3/8" hose.

Right lads took everything into consideration, I've ordered a stop tap to go from the inpesction port of the tank. This regulator I've got this absolutely crap, it's leaking from the actual dial and I've tried all sorts to stop it, think I will just return that and get a different one if anyone can recommend a filter/regulator?

Also I'm having a problem with the compressor fittings, some of those also leak slightly should I be using some type of sealant or tape around the threads to stop this?

Ps actually started the compressor up for the first time today and it sounds like there is something rattling inside the tank? Don't know what this could be, it is brand new the compressor.

PTFE tape or liquid thread sealant like Loktite 542 should seal the unions and the rattle is probably just resonance from the pump running. Use it and you'll soon get used to the noises it makes and find out what is serious and what is just normal.

Has it got oil in it, some are shipped dry?

Il try the loctite thanks for the reply. Yes it has oil in mate, there is a tiny little glass panel on the front with a red dot inside the oil is above this mark

There definitely sounds like something inside the tank that is rattling though like not a constant rattle but I can hear it

Mine came with oil in it. Try lifting the front end up and listen for anything rolling inside the tank.
