Modify torch trigger, Sensitivity?

Using the torch that came with the PRO90 and having occasional issues with the trigger. This may be the design itself and not a problem but all the same it's very annoying. For wire to run out, the trigger has to be fully compressed and over a few hours of welding this can become tiring on the hand muscles.

Is there a away to adjust the sensitivity so the the trigger doesn't have to be fully pressed?

Can you not pull the torch trigger off and put something behind it so it presses the button with less travel?

There is a sketch on this thread of the torch trigger , there is a spring type strip under the trigger. Perhaps on yours it's a bit bent out of shape. Pull it apart and have a look I am sure it will be a doddle to sort.

If the PRO 90 has a gas valve in the handle make sure you don't make the trigger too sensitive as you may enable the welding current without the gas being turned on fully.

I had the same issue with mine, a tiny countersunk woodscrew turned out to be a simple solution

replace the torch for one with a micro switch and fit a gas valve
