^^^ is that not the worst way round ?as petrol will burm hotter and melt the ring whare as if you put diesel in a petrol all that happens is the commpression is not enough to explode it ?
Diesel burns hotter than petrol, which in a petrol can result in melted pistons and other heat related damage.^^^ is that not the worst way round ?as petrol will burm hotter and melt the ring whare as if you put diesel in a petrol all that happens is the commpression is not enough to explode it ?

Might be dual purpose, eh :-) Better value for money obviously :-) Just don't pee into the tank!! Might be OK as an AdBlue substitute in an emergency. It's not a shewee then? Ah.
Petrol nozzle fits in the diesel filler though, ask me how I know![]()
From someone I know who put diesel in an FJ1100 (or was a 12?), the bore scraping was terminal. Required a rebore and new pistons.^^^ is that not the worst way round ?as petrol will burm hotter and melt the ring whare as if you put diesel in a petrol all that happens is the commpression is not enough to explode it ?
The last time I saw a leaded fuel pump, I think I was 5-8 years oldThe flap is to stop you using the wrong pump, only the unleaded nozzle fits in it. The nozzle size standard dictates that the delivery nozzles for unleaded fuel shall not exceed 0.85" in diameter while the delivery nozzles for leaded fuel shall not be less than 0.93" in diameter.
Do they actually still exist? Or have i just not noticed them?
It was banned, no lead in petrol nowThe last time I saw a leaded fuel pump, I think I was 5-8 years oldDo they actually still exist? Or have i just not noticed them?
I remember seeing the 4-star pumps and thinking, bet that stuff's way better than unleaded...![]()

That's what I mean!!!It was banned, no lead in petrol now

Some reading here regarding the time line of fuel availability. FedBritHistVehClubs I did not know that the formulation of petrol changes through the year according to temperature, I thought that was a diesel thing only. The last time I saw a leaded fuel pump, I think I was 5-8 years oldDo they actually still exist? I'm 33.They brought out LRP (lead replacement petrol) but it was only available for about 3 years then it was phased out as well. If you were 5 or 8 it puts you about 40 years old now Munkul.

Still get it, although not exactly easily . . . or cheaply . . .It was banned, no lead in petrol now
