What joy to behold!
Is that the toolbox behinde the saddle? and with paniers!! and still in regular use, not just sitting around in a collectors display case! wonderful!
Both the tool box, the headlight ( I use the word advisedly) and the electric horn all have a nice big M stamped on them. But the nicest thing of all is the sticker from the shop that sold it in 1962-ish is just down the road at our nearest town so it's prolly never been more than 30km away from where it lives now in all it's life. Came with a cork lined tin helmet in a job lot of crap tools and a solid 1969 type 1120 Renault 4. Now don't get me and the International Man of Mystery started on those.......:~}
The Mobylette looks brilliant. Very similar to my Raleigh moped. I believe Raleigh used the engines (or made them under licence), but the frame also looks identical to the later Raleighs.
Mine doesn't need a speedo as it's not capable of 30mph. Lights are negotiable too.
behold! What wonderounsness has befallen me: Observe, my shiny new mobylette! (not working, obviously) speedo going up to 60, what do people reckon it can do....15 downhill?
it is one of the most modern mobylettes, 1974i think... too modern for all the collecters and so went for much cheaper
The older ones are lovly, but i don't really want to spend £200+ on somthing with siezed engine and no wheels
still- think i'll look good going to school in the mornings?
oh, me and my slow typing...thanks jon, I read it just too late
I had had a look at a few punch maxi's on ebay, my dad used to have one, they all seemed either imaculate condition and hideously expensive or 99p and a pile of rust
not seen much of the rest though...
