A lot will depend on your overheads etc. but my kit don't go in the motor for less than £40/ per hour with a minimum 3 hour charge, sometimes more, depending on the job,

It's not the sort of question others can answer imo. You need to work out your overheads (insurance, equipment maintenance etc, etc) to be able calculate what your hourly rate needs to be.

Like Paul i have a 3 hour minimum charge for mobile work rather than a call out fee.

Are you thinking of getting into that line of work ocean? If so, what about codings etc? Lifting gear is dodgy territory when it comes to repairs, especially nowadays .

We dont do call out charges, but time starts ticking as soon as the keys go in the van.

Beceause of the variety of stuff we do, you get then job then decide what tools you want...

Loading, travel, working, unloading, all chargeable. Not entirely sure of the actual rate, but its over £30/ph +vat

Sorry wozzaaah its for my sisters son david who works for himself he is called djb welding and fabrication he is coded in mma and mig i work on cat fork trucks. also do repairs on dock levelers and roller shutter doors david does a lot of work for my company. also other fork truck companys and he is trying
to get a quoting type system in place which is hard but if he has to travel
upto 1 hour he would charge 55 pound to 65 pound call out if he workes
4 hours it would be 120 pounds total thats about 30 pounds an hour but if you travel 5 minuits and work 10 minuits it still worth 50 pounds well that is
what i have told him to charge what do you think cheers ocean

sounds a little low unless you charge for materials as extra's, rods diesel for a genset it all adds up pretty quick. you need to sit down and work your cost's.
