Looking for a *nd opinion on whether this will be “sensible” design.
Not much more thought has gone into it other then this is what’s laying around and saves buying more stock.
Need a mobile gantry, 3m wide to fit over truck/trailer, 500-1000kg max it will ever lift. this is the rough sketch for the two sides. PFC base, UB upright, with CHS bracing. Will have same CHS bracing upto lifting beam. Lifting point will be fixed in middle of the beam.
Can anyone see potential failures, weak points?
Skimmed through couple of similar threads where most have used SHS for the “A” sides. Any major advantages to this?
Personal use not commercial, don’t need a debate, just a simple “looks fine” or “there’s a much better solution”
Excuse the (very) rough sketches
