So, the spacecraft is called Orion and the launch vehicle is called Artemis. The crew-section is made by Lockheed and the service module made by Astrium in Germany.

The first personned flight (crew of 4) should be next month and then folks may go around the Moon, maybe next year (?) but it’s not so clear when they’ll next land on the Moon….just like they first did in ...1969 .

the money would be better spent building a space station and so would the other powers of the world

usa, russia, china and europe can all build there own space stations

whoever builds first will gain space power makes no difference who they are but to note here only russia has done long term space living usa is pathetic with the short trips and returns

space stations give refuel points also once there we can look at power to travel faster across space to get more power and gravity to use sling shot around a planet to excellerate faster we know this we already use the same principles but morons in nasa still want to excellerate from earths gravity

This is Artemis 2 - the second step of a project to build a base on the south pole of the moon to support further lunar exploration (and exploitation...) and a lunar orbiting space station ('Gateway') to act as a staging post for interplanetary travel. Contracts have been awarded up to Artemis 13, at least.

It's not just the Americans:

The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is providing the next-generation external Canadarm3 robotic arm and advanced robotic interfaces to host payloads and provide base points on Gateway.
ESA (European Space Agency) is providing:
The Lunar I-Hab, one of two habitation elements where Artemis crew will live, conduct research, and prepare for lunar surface activities.
The Lunar View module that will provide refueling for PPE, cargo logistics and windows for Moon, Earth and deep space viewing.
Lunar Link to enable high-data-rate communications between the lunar surface and Gateway.
The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) is providing:
Critical components of the Lunar I-Hab module that will provide the heart of the space station’s life support capabilities. Japan will provide Lunar I-Hab’s Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS), thermal control system functions, and cameras.
Batteries to power HALO, Lunar I-Hab, and Lunar View.
HTV-XG spacecraft for launch and delivery of a logistics resupply mission for Gateway.
The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre of the United Arab Emirates will provide Gateway’s Crew and Science Airlock that will permit crew and science transfers to and from the vacuum of space.

Astronauts from Canada, Europe, Japan, and the United Arab Emirates will fly on Artemis missions to Gateway.

The Orion and Extravehicular Activity and Human Surface Mobility Programs are also leaning on international collaboration to supply crucial elements in support of Artemis.

JAXA is providing:
The pressurized rover, which will enable astronauts to travel farther and work for longer periods on the lunar surface.
ESA is providing:
Orion’s European Service Module, which is built by its main contractor, Airbus. Workers across 10 European countries and the United States supply components for the service module, including Germany, Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Spain, and the Netherlands. The final product is assembled at Airbus facilities in Bremen, Germany, before being shipped to NASA.

what ive said is fact voyager 1 already has used the method we havent used the method with space ships yet

i would still base it on a container build with that option you can use booster rockets to get it into space

both the space station and a land based space station reference could be used

the center part is sealed with doors in the shape of an octogon whilst the second option would allow access via the outer sealed unit to the other unit joined up together in the middle

doors to seal each bay extending them is the hardest part its either screwed based or its a scissor jack option though id use a drill operated scissor jack as theres a possibility the scissor reference would vibrate...

Sometime about 1550 today, a NASA probe will return from its 7-year mission bringing back a soil sample from an asteroid. It should make a soft touch down under parachutes in the Utah desert.

What adds interest to this is that the last time NASA ran such a mission, the chutes failed and the landing was anything but "soft" (it's doing 27,000mph when it hits the atmosphere).

all nasa thinks about is a pod ( multipod space station ) that is sent from earth base and sealed thats as much as the boffin idiots at nasa want to build

as linked via the above posts ive already suggested a pod design that expands further into a round station with addons that are built in outer space dosnt just use one way in and one way out has multi exits and multi juctions all sealed

so could i build them oh yes because im not a one way thinker a round or ocatagon space station shape allows many things allows multi connections to the station allows for multi countrys to be supported there with a 4 quarter space station which of coarse could be further expanded

Don't get me wrong...I love watching rockets take off.

But if I was spending that kind of money I think I'd prefer to watch x25 falcon heavy launches instead of one sls launch!
