yes and no lol. TIG runs at a slightly different voltage from MMA, most inverter units have a switch that changes mode. MY inverter fusion 200phf, has MMA mode, HF tig mode and scratch tig mode (i think). Its just a matter of turning dial and it changes mode from MMA to TIG. Some of the cheaper MMA inverter units dont have a tig switch
MY old EWM pico 140 is a basic inverter, with a switch for TIG (it just changes the voltage). You just need a tig torch with a gas valve and a few consumables and you can TIG, but its only scratch start, meaning you will have to scratch the torch against the work piece and lift it off slightly to get an arc. Its fine and works no problems, i change to an inverter fusion unit with HF start because, i found myself reshaping the tungsten to often for my likeing.
