Hi guys, i will be restoring the paintwork on the following golf....
When i say restoring i mean respraying....
I need some advice on the prep process, as i have ordered most of the consumable but im worried i am getting confused with the american CAMI system, (as i am a member of an american forum for bodywork). I will be using Cellulose as its more forgiving to beginners, and i will wax the car every month to maintain paint health!!!
My plan is to :
Remove paint on the dents/dings with P40/P80
Straigten panel as much as i can with hammer dolley setup
Apply filler
Shape with P80 then P240
Apply Glaze/sand with P240
Guide coat/sand panel with P240
Final WET sand of primer with P600
Apply Colour Coat
Wet Sand with P1500 then P2000
Rotary Polish with the 3M Fast cut, then 3M Fine Cut, with corresponding pads.
I also have an AFS Sanders set of blocks on the way.
Please advise if i am using the correct grit as on the american forum i dont know when they are talking 600 Grit or P600 grit....
Many thanks, Scott
