Still got to take the engine and windows out so I can prep for paint, but had to hold out working on it as needed to replace the front panel on my primera, and now awaiting a front panel for another of the daughters cars so I can replace that.
nice to see someone sorting out an old Fester, 1.1S must be worth a decent wedge now in good nick. Keep yourself a photo record of the works, it'll help you to feel you're 'getting somewhere' with it.
Progress on a big job can feel non-existent when you're flat on your back and seeing it on a regular basis; but when you got the photos, you can instantly see that's not the case.
I take it you've ensured that all the measurements tally, left to right. I made a school-boy error on mine and basically welded my inner wing 5mm short after MOT welding repairs that followed (by some months) a rather lighter smack than yours about 5 years ago. I anticipate rectifying it in the future having finally found my error quite recently.
Yes checked all measurements with a floor plan someone had, and the other shell I have, also a friend's 1, I was 1.5 mm out on the passenger wing which was second hand, that side wasn't damaged by the impact so pretty sure the panel was the cause of it.
Cross member was the right measurement front the bulkhead so happy with it for the moment, although I may get it checked professionally.
well finally got the fiesta painted and glass in so now time to put the rest of it back together, and final polish it , the get the engine running , but first im having to put it to one side for a week to put a new front on the xr31 cabby.
